Summer

Its amazing how quickly time passes and leaves you wondering where it went. I am especially aware of this reality as I sit to write a quick update. Where did the summer go?! How are we sitting here on the verge of September?!

Originally we had thought we'd be staying in Isgoufa over the summer, however quite a few factors caused us to return to the states for a couple of months. I returned the beginning of June in order to be with my sister, Kati, who is battling colon cancer. Things were looking pretty bleak when I arrived in June, but thanks be to God things have taken a miraculous turn! The battle is not over, but God has chosen to extend her life for the time being and we are so, so thankful!

Joey and the kids returned the end of June to spend a month working, and getting to see friends. The kids went to camp, and got to spend a lot of time with family and friends. Joey worked hard on Kitsap Construction things and tried to catch up with as many friends as possible. It was a special blessing to get to stay with Joey's parents and to see so many friendly faces. We were so encouraged by our time with so many of you.

At the beginning of August Joey and the three youngest returned to Morocco. I stayed behind to help move Josiah to Texas. Benson and I drove down with Josiah over the course of three days and then stayed to be a part of school orientation. It was a really great trip seeing a lot of countryside and building memories.

We are now all back together. Well, five of us. Josiah has started his first full week of classes at LeTourneau University and Benson is a week away from starting his senior year at Burley School. Its going to be a different year, with lots of changes and adjustments, but we are here for it. We are looking forward to all that God will do and ways he will grow us to be more like him. Excited to have you along for the journey.
