Wintery Weather Woes

Morocco is experiencing a cold and wet winter. Most of the locals tell us it has been 10 years since there was this much snow, this early in the year. The mountains around us are beautiful and white. It has been raining off and on for the past 3 weeks and continues to dump today.

As you can imagine the cold and wet is difficult for those still living in shelters. On Friday we got a call letting us know that one of the villages we've been working in, Tizgui, experienced a major windstorm. Due to complicated politics this village is still without homes, most families living in metal shelters built by relief workers after the earthquake, almost 2 years ago. Because of the high winds almost every shelter suffered some sort of damage. Some were totally destroyed and are beyond repair. Thankfully no one was injured, and most people had a corner to keep things dry.

We are now working to get supplies to help people repair the damage. It will be a time consuming project as the roads are muddy and in some places impassable. Its all coming together though and we are thankful for a community of people who are working to help this poor village.
We are desperate for your prayers. Pray for the people of Tizgui, and the volunteers who are helping. Thank you so much for walking with us through this season.
