Visiting Memories

At the city square, new lights since we were here last.

The day after Christmas we had the opportunity to travel up to the northern part of Morocco where we lived for 10 years. The boys had not been up to visit for over 8 years! We ended up staying for over a week, sitting with friends, visiting favorite spots and spending a lot of time cleaning and organizing our old house.

Many of our favorite memories, while living in the north, involved the beach. There is a particularly special beach that we would regularly visit with friends and even stay the night - sleeping under the stars and eating fresh fish cooked over a fire. The kids and Joey made sure to visit our favorite beach this trip, hiking down the dry riverbed to the quiet and isolated beach. It was definitely a highlight of the week.

It was a really wonderful week and we are so blessed to be in Morocco again and to see these friends and favorite spaces. We are looking forward to being able to travel for visits up to the north in the future. Especially in the summer when the temperatures in the south get super hot, the beautiful beaches of the north will provide a great spot to cool off! Lord willing we'll be able to take some of our new friends with us!
